Aani Thirumanjanam celebrated grandly at Sri Rathnagiriswarar temple

The Aani Thirumanjanam function was celebrated with grandeur at the Sri Rathnagiriswarar temple in Besant Nagar on July 1 and 2.

The two-day festivities began on July 1 with Ganapathi pooja, followed by Siva Ashtapathi Bhajan and Divya namam, led by Sri TAFE Ganesa Sarma and his team. On the morning of July 2, special Abhishekams were performed for Sri Natarajar and Sri Sivakamasundari Amman amidst Veda Parayanam. This was followed by the sacred Kalyana Utsavam, presided over by Temple Asthana Vidwan Kumbakonam Brahmasri Srividya Dureena K Dinakara Sarma, with bhajan renditions by Sri Ganesa Sarma and his Bhagavathars.

A large number of devotees participated in the Kalyana Utsavam, where a variety of sweets and prasads were distributed. In the evening, the Utsava Vigrahams (idols) of Sri Natarajar and Sri Sivakamasundari were taken on a traditional ‘Veedhi Ula’ (procession) through the main streets surrounding the temple, concluding the auspicious event.
