A 655 member Indian contingent is competing at the Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou, China. The 19th edition of the continental multisport event officially began on September 23 and will conclude on October 8. As on Oct.6, India amassed 25 golds, 35 silvers and 40 bronzes. Among the contingent are a few residents from our neighbourhood, we are proud of. Here they are:

The team of Kynan Chenai, Zoravar Singh and Prithviraj Tondaiman (A resident of Sastri Nagar) won the Gold in the Men’s Trap-50 (Team) event.
K.C.Ganapathy from Palavakkam and his team were among the top contenders to the Finals.
Ishwariya Ganesh, a resident of Parameshwari Nagar and a student of Vels University, was placed 4th in the Sailing RS:X category.

Adyar Times was established in Chennai in the year 1993, founded by Mr.S.P.Ambrose, IAS (Retd.). The concept of a newspaper for the neighbourhood was a novel idea then. The English weekly (Sunday) now boasts a circulation of 42000 copies with an average of 16 pages per issue.
