Blue Cross of India and HCL Foundation join hands to vaccinate over 3400 dogs in Avadi and Thoraipakkam, against viral infections such as parvo, canine distemper and Rabies. The event was part of the World Rabies Day, observed on Sep.28.

A dedicated team from Blue Cross of India spent ten days setting up camps and going ward-by-ward to administer free vaccines to street dogs and pet dogs. Four outdoor teams covered various areas of Avadi, ensuring widespread coverage. To prevent duplication, vaccinated dogs were marked with vegetable dye. All dogs that were vaccinated on the streets were not sterilised or vaccinated earlier.

The public responded enthusiastically by bringing their dogs to the vaccination camps and getting them vaccinated as well. Vaccination cards were given to the pet owners after the vaccination.  Avadi Corporation Commissioner, City Health Officer, Chairman, Ward Councillor, and volunteers extended invaluable support throughout the program.
