Students from the Goshin Isshin-Ryu Karate Academy, Thiruvanmiyur, recently made an exceptional national debut, achieving a clean sweep of podium finishes at the ISSO (International Schools Sports Organisation) Karate Championship held in Mumbai.
Competing against tough opposition from across India, all students from the academy secured Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals in both the Kata and Kumite categories.
Highlighting the victory, one student earned a Kumite Gold medal, thereby qualifying for the upcoming SGFI (School Games Federation of India) Games in December. The academy, which is the first and only official international academy in Chennai with direct affiliation under IWKA and WUKF, is currently inviting registrations from aspiring martial artists.
