Greater Chennai Corporation Mayor R. Priya inspected several development projects across South Chennai on Apr.5, focusing on infrastructure and community welfare.
In Sholinganallur, the Mayor initiated the construction of a multi-purpose building at the Zone 15, Ward 195 office complex. The project, funded by the Mayor’s Development Fund with an allocation of ₹50 lakh, aims to provide enhanced facilities for the local community.
She also inspected the ongoing construction of a community welfare hall in Rajiv Gandhi Salai, Ponniyamman Koil 1st Street, Sholinganallur (Ward 199). This significant project, with a budget of ₹5.81 crore under the Singara Chennai 2.0 scheme, promises to deliver a modern facility for residents.
In Perungudi, the Mayor inspected the desilting work at Kilinjal Kulam on Veerapandiya Kattabomman Street (Ward 184). This rejuvenation project, funded under the Singara Chennai 2.0 scheme with an allocation of ₹40 lakh, seeks to restore the water body and enhance the local environment.
Continuing in Perungudi, the Mayor assessed the progress of a cattle shed construction in Veerapandiya Kattabomman Street (Ward 184). This project, with a substantial investment of ₹2.50 crore from the Capital Fund, aims to provide improved facilities for livestock management.
She also inspected the construction site of a dog birth control center at the same place, funded by the Capital Fund with ₹1.61 crore. Commissioner J.
