Chennai, June 21, 2025 — In a world where most teenagers are consumed by screens, 13-year-old S. Sahana from Chennai has turned inward — and made history.

At Aum Yoga Studio in Anna Nagar, the young yoga enthusiast stunned onlookers by holding the Baddha Konasana (Bound Angle Pose) for a jaw-dropping 41 minutes and 16 seconds, breaking the previous world record of 20 minutes and 31 seconds. Her achievement has placed her among the youngest global yoga record-holders and brought pride to Tamil Nadu and India.

As the sun set over Chennai, Sahana sat calm and composed, her spine erect, breath controlled, and mind deeply focused. The room, filled with yoga practitioners and supporters, fell into a respectful hush — not out of obligation, but awe.

When the final timer buzzed, she had doubled the existing world record, setting a new benchmark for endurance and inner strength. The audience erupted in applause, and among them was Indian actress Sai Dhanshika, who witnessed the achievement firsthand.

“In a world that moves too fast, Sahana showed us the power of stillness,” said a senior instructor at Aum Yoga Studio, one of Chennai’s leading centers for yoga and wellness. “She’s not just a record-breaker; she’s a beacon of what today’s youth can achieve with focus and discipline.”

This wasn’t merely a test of flexibility. Sahana’s feat highlighted mental resilience, breath control, and yogic discipline — the true essence of yoga. Her quiet journey was backed by months of early-morning training and deep guidance from her mentors, away from social media spotlights.

With this record-breaking performance, S. Sahana becomes a national and global inspiration, showing that the power of yoga lies not in movement but in mindful stillness.
