In a heartwarming act, the Councillor of Ward 170, K.R.Kathir Murugan, extended a helping hand to S.Rani, a visually impaired senior citizen residing on Kottur Angalamman Temple Street, Kotturpuram.

Rani had sought assistance in February to rebuild her deteriorating hut under the Councillor’s initiative ‘Unnai Thedi Naan’. Moved by her appeal, the Councillor personally financed the construction of a new cement-roofed house at a cost of ₹2.5 lakhs.

The newly built home was formally handed over during a housewarming ceremony held on Apr.18, attended by local well-wishers and supporters. Key support for the project came from H. Gopi of the Councillor’s team, who took charge of supervising the construction and ensuring timely completion.

Drinking water facility provided at health centre

On Mar.25, the Councillor inspected the Dandayuthapani Street health centre in Kotturpuram. Following requests from hospital staff and patients for better drinking water facilities, he collaborated with the Nawab Garden Association to donate a drinking water facility which is based on atmospheric humidity. The facility was inaugurated on Apr.19.
