The Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) Industrial Training Institute (ITI) invites students to apply for free industrial training for the 2025-26 academic year, with a deadline of July 15, 2025.

The institute offers NCVT-certified vocational training across six trades, prioritising students from Chennai Corporation schools and children of GCC employees. Admissions for other economically disadvantaged students from Chennai District will follow government norms. The age limit is 14-40 years, with no upper limit for women.

A key benefit is 100% free training, leading to job placements in leading companies. Eligible students receive a monthly stipend of up to ₹10,500 during internships. Courses:

  • Computer Operator: 1 year course; Eligibility: 10th pass
  • Plumber: 1 year course; Eligibility: 8th pass
  • Fitter: 2 years course; Eligibility: 10th pass
  • Motor mechanic vehicle: 2 years course; Eligibility: 10th pass
  • Electrician: 2 years course; Eligibility: 10th pass
  • Electronic mechanic: 2 years course; Eligibility: 10th pass

Application forms are available free at the ITI (Lloyds Colony, Royapettah, Chennai-14; Ph: 044-28473117) or can be downloaded from www.chennaicorporation.gov.in. Required documents include transfer certificate, 10th mark sheet (9th for 2021 batch), community certificate, Aadhaar copy, and linked bank passbook. An 8th mark sheet is mandatory for the Plumber trade. Admissions follow government reservation policies.
