Geri Care, a leader in elder care, on Aug.18, inaugurated its 10th facility in Velachery. The new 75-bed Assisted Living centre offers comprehensive medical support for elders – post-surgery, dementia, and chronic condition care.
The facility also introduces India’s first dialysis day care centre for elders, aiming to ease the burden of late-night treatments. It also features a dedicated Elder Fitness Studio for physiotherapy and rehabilitation, and a landscaped ‘Elder Grove’ for relaxation.
The chief guest was Suhasini Maniratnam, a celebrated actor and philanthropist, and the guest of honour was Padma Shri Prof. Dr. V.S.Natarajan, known as the ‘Father of Geriatric Medicine in India’.
Dr. Lakshmipathy Ramesh, Founder & Managing Director of Geri Care, highlighted the growing demand for specialised eldercare, noting that the elderly population is projected to nearly double by 2050. He stated, “Our mission goes beyond healthcare; it’s about giving elders a place where they feel cared for, respected, and valued every day.”
Suhasini praised the facility and said it is about “dignity, comfort, and giving our elders the quality of life they deserve,” while Dr. Natarajan called it a “model for the future.”
