The unit of Cross Disability Early Intervention Center, NIEPMD, organised a theme-based trans-disciplinary model of group activities for children with cross-disability. The children dressed as Krishna and Radha. The parents were also involved in the trans-disciplinary model of group activities on the occasion of Krishna Jayanthi.
The theme of the program was presented under three activities:
1. Kolattam (eye-hand coordination): All children along with parents presented a beautiful Kolattam dance, which improves the eye–hand coordination and gross and fine motor of the child.
2. Foot Print (stimulating motor cortex): Footprints of children were made on chart paper with bright colours to stimulate the motor cortex of the child.
3. Fun time (stimulation of amygdala): Fun time includes the steps from parent for the child along with siblings to all the Krishna and Radha, followed by sharing sweets and snacks. This joyful moment helps to stimulate the amygdala. Learning will also take place if it is pleasurable.
