Every year Brahma Kumaris, Adyar celebrates Labour Day on May 1 to recognise and appreciate the invaluable contributions made by the labourers. This year, a special programme was arranged for Police personnels at Olcott Memorial High School, Besant Nagar on May 1.

The welcome address was given by ACP Nelson (J2 Adyar police station), followed by a demonstration of 3 types of Pranayama techniques by BK Premila. Sister BK Vijayalakshmi spoke on knowing the ‘self’. “Knowing the self is a divine energy within one’s body, which controls the body through the brain, sees through the eyes, takes decisions, and does actions using the organs of the body. The participants were taught to experience the qualities of the soul through a guided commentary for 30 mins,” said a representation from the Brahma Kumaris.
