New MRI facility and training program launched at Guindy hospital
Share on WhatsappShare on Facebook

In a major step towards enhancing elderly healthcare, Tamil Nadu Health and Family Welfare Minister Ma. Subramanian inaugurated a new 1.5 Tesla MRI machine worth ₹7.75 crore at the National Senior Citizens Health Centre in Guindy, on Apr.23. This state-of-the-art facility is now available for public use, eliminating the need for patients to travel to distant locations for advanced diagnostic services.

Since its inauguration in February 2024, the hospital has served over 2.69 lakh outpatients and 7,775 inpatients. It offers specialised services in cardiology, nephrology, neurology, dentistry, AYUSH, and more. It also includes a special geriatric unit offering round-the-clock emergency care, surgery, and diagnostic services. The facility also promotes senior wellness through recreational areas for chess, traditional games, and reading.
