Kottivakkam based Appayya Dikshita Foundation(ADF) is organising a month-long celebration of Appayya Dikshitar’s Jayanthi Mahotsavam from Sept.29, with special abhishekam and pooja.

In view of the Mahalayapaksham, ADF has arranged for Pithrubhoojanam and mass annadanam for the period, at several places like Rameshwaram, Kodikkarai (near Vedaranyam), Varanasi, Nasik, Gaya, Haridwar and Maheshwar (on the banks of Narmadha river).

Adyar Times was established in Chennai in the year 1993, founded by Mr.S.P.Ambrose, IAS (Retd.). The concept of a newspaper for the neighbourhood was a novel idea then. The English weekly (Sunday) now boasts a circulation of 42000 copies with an average of 16 pages per issue.
