Samskrita Bharati conducted a 1-day Samskrita Teacher’s Training workshop on Sept.10 at Yogalaya, Gandhi Nagar, Adyar. More than 50 volunteers from across Chennai participated and got trained as teachers for teaching Spoken Samskritam.
The institute also celebrated the International Samskritam Day on Aug.30. Volunteers and students celebrated the day by lighting lamps in the house, chanting Samskrita slokas/songs and participating in various other activities.
In the month of Aug, 10 free spoken Samskritam classes were conducted, where more than 80 people learnt to speak in Samskritam. More than 60 students who took part in these classes have registered in two courses:
- Level 1 Prak Sopanam – 6 months intense coaching in spoken Samskritam with oral test only;
- Pravesha – A correspondence course in which the student can do self-study and learn Samskritam through Tamil/English medium.
