The Project Day celebration at Olcott Memorial Higher Secondary School, held on Oct.25, was a vibrant display of student creativity, teamwork, and hands-on learning. The event was inaugurated by chief guest Jayanthi Aravamudhan, Former Director of Learning & Development at BVM Global Group of School.

She emphasised the importance of project-based learning, applauding the students for their clarity and innovative approach. The exhibits covered a range of topics, including environmental conservation, science, and social awareness. Among the standout presentations was a young girl’s interactive model of breathing and heart function, where she demonstrated the ‘breathe in and breathe out’ process while explaining the role of the heart.

Another student captivated the audience with a hands-on model of seed germination, highlighting each stage of growth. A third student impressed visitors by explaining human body systems through a detailed chart, showcasing her confidence and depth of knowledge. The Adyar eco-development team, who attended the event, noted that they would implement similar eco-friendly methods in their Blue-Green Centre.

Director Sashikala Sriram commended the dedication of students, teachers, and parents, especially acknowledging teachers Shanthi and Anbazhagi for their coordination efforts.

Overall, Project Day was a memorable success. It reinforced the value of collaborative learning and inspired students to continue their explorative, hands-on educational journey.
