The Department of Posts has announced a temporary suspension of public transactions at 47 post offices within the Chennai South Postal Division on Aug.4, 2025. This crucial one-day downtime is necessary to facilitate a seamless transition to the next-generation Advanced Postal Technology (APT) application, marking a significant step towards digital excellence. The upgraded system is set to go live on Aug.5, 2025.
The temporary halt in services is essential for data migration, system validations, and configuration processes, ensuring the smooth and efficient launch of the new platform. The 47 post offices that will be affected by this service suspension include: Adambakkam, Adyar, Alandur, Alwarthirunagar, Ashok Nagar, Besant Nagar, Chennai Airport, Guindy Engineering College, Guindy Industrial Estate, Guindy North, IIT, Injambakkam, K.K. Nagar, Karapakkam, Kodambakkam, Kotturpuram, Madipakkam, Madipakkam South, Mambalam R.S, Meenambakkam, Nandambakkam K.I, Nandanam, Nanganallur, Neelankarai, Nilamangai Nagar, Okkiam Thoraipakkam, Palavakkam, Pazhavanthangal, Perungudi, Raj Bhavan, Ramapuram, R.A. Puram, Ram Nagar, Saidapet, Saligramam, Sholinganallur, St. Thomas Mount HO, Tiruvanmiyur, TTTI Taramani, Vadapalani, Valasaravakkam, Valmiki Nagar, Velachery, Virugambakkam, West Mambalam, TN Dr. Ambedkar Law University, and Nandanam Business Post Centre.
