The Department of Posts has announced a temporary suspension of public transactions at 47 post offices within the Chennai South Postal Division on Aug.4, 2025. This crucial one-day downtime is necessary to facilitate a seamless transition to the next-generation Advanced Postal Technology (APT) application, marking a significant step towards digital excellence. The upgraded system is set to go live on Aug.5, 2025.

The temporary halt in services is essential for data migration, system validations, and configuration processes, ensuring the smooth and efficient launch of the new platform. This transformative initiative is part of the department’s commitment to delivering smarter, more efficient, and future-ready postal operations.
