The chief guest, Dr.D.Venkateshwaran, Deputy High Commissioner, Sri Lankan High Commission, Chennai, gave away the Deepam trophy to the winning Sri Lankan men’s team. The Adyar trophy was awarded to the MBC women’s team, who gave it all on water to continue their winning streak this year as well.

N. Subramanian, President of MBC, said, “We are happy to host Madras-Colombo after a long Covid gap. We hope the Colombo team had a good time competing in this regatta.”

Dimuth Gunawardene, President of CRC, appreciated the wonderful hospitality of the MBC and warmly reminisced that in the olden days, the teams used to stay at the homes of the host club and the relationship extended to the families as well – and the friendships made, were for life.
