Sri Sankara Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Thiruvalluvar Nagar, Thiruvanmiyur recently celebrated Sanskrit Day with great fervour and enthusiasm. The welcome address by the school Sanskrit Teacher, T.N.Revathy, was followed by a speech by the chief guest, Dr.Lavanya Nagarajan from Samskrita Bharthi. She emphasised the significance of learning Sanskrit in today’s world and highlighted the importance of preserving and promoting India’s rich cultural heritage and the role that Sanskrit plays in it.
The students of the school then took centre stage, showcasing their talents through a variety of performances, which mesmerised the audience. The highlights of the event was Bhagawad Gita chanting by KG children, sloka recitation by class 5 and 6 students and prize distributions. The guest of honour, V.Giridhar from Samskrita Bharati and Principal Dr.Janaki also graced the occasion.
