The Tamilnadu School Education Department, on May 31, announced that the reopening of schools around Tamilnadu, which was scheduled to be on June 6, is now postponed to June 10.
Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, Minister for School Education shared the news in his official twitter handle, “As per the orders of Chief Minister M K Stalin, schools would resume on June 10 due to the increasing temperature and in consideration of the students health.”
Meanwhile the temperature around the city and the state has been soaring high in the past days. Various weather bloggers have stated that the weather stations across the city have recorded the highest temperature in the city. On May 31 the city went on to record 40 degree celsius at 11 am.
The Greater Chennai Corporation has been putting out advisories on how the public can keep themselves hydrated and beat the heat. They are also emphasised households to have a robust rainwater harvesting system to save and recharge rainwater as and when it rains.
I personally think schools should not be opened until 3rd week of june.
You may ask why !.
Because there is immense heat . There is a surge in water borne disease and humans are prone to high pollution during june.
So relax and start by 25th june.
Also change the school timmings. It is ridiculous.
