Silambam champions honoured

Winners of the National Silambam Competition, held at Goa on May 23 and 24, were recently honoured for their achievements. The participants from Tamizhthai Silambam Sangam bagged 12 gold, 5 silver and 14 Bronze medals.

Aasan V. Nandhakumar was the chief guest; social activists Saidhai G.P.Kumaran, Kotturpuram S.Murugesan and other members welcomed the guests. PB Subramanian regional head of the Dr Ambedkar Mandram (Kottur), Ward 170 MLA Kadhir Murugan, Ward 173 MLA Subashini Durai, Custom Officer Kalaikumar, Lawyer Dr M.Ganesan, All India Sports Development General Secretary Jayakumar, and other officials distributed certificates and encouraged the players.
