The Tamil Nadu Transgender Welfare Board is conducting a special camp for transgender persons on June 21 at the Chennai District Collectorate.
The camp is being held so that many marginalised transgenders can benefit from the various welfare schemes that are offered to them by the state government. The camp will include procedures like the registration, issuance and correction of identity cards, Aadhaar cards, and voter IDs. They can also apply for the Ayushman Bharat cards and the Chief Minister’s comprehensive medical insurance cards.
A press release from the Chennai District Collectorate encourages members of the transgender community to avail these services.
