The event, presided over by chief guest Mrs.Meenakshi – a research scholar, was a testament to the creativity and passion of the young minds. The evening began with the principal’s welcome speech followed by the chief guest address, which was enlightening.

The event also discussed the other significant events for the month of November: Diwali (Nov-12) Children’s day (Nov-14) and Indian Constitution Day (Nov-26). Demon Narakasuran’s life was depicted through a drama and joy of light as a dance. The visit of Dr. Ambedkar, played by a student, in the school campus created the needed buzz. ‘A tribute to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru’ was a heartwarming performance by the children.

S.Seetharaman, Chairman – Super Auto Forge, on Oct.24, donated and inaugurated the Mechatronics lab in the school campus. A team from Super Auto Forge also gave a demonstration on the working of Pneumatics and the basics of Hydraulics apart from providing a training kit. The students also got hands-on training about the application of pneumatic and hydraulics in the day-to-day tasks performed in various industries.
Students of Sri Sankara Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Thiruvalluvar Nagar, celebrated Children’s Day with the theme, ‘bagless but bugless’ day. The children amused themselves and amazed their teachers by showcasing their talents in different events such as dance, debate, story telling, etc.
The school also conducted a fancy dress competition for the classes Pre.KG, LKG and UKG. Colourful costumes, imaginative themes (animals, fruits, vegetables, helpers, national leaders and seasons) and enthusiastic participation made the event a memorable one for all.
