Sri Sankara School releases souvenir to mark 30 years of Karuna Club

Karuna International, a Chennai-based NGO has, for 35 years, worked nationwide to sow seeds of compassion in young minds through Karuna Clubs in schools. A grand inauguration of the annual activities of the Karuna Club was held at the Sri Sankara Senior Secondary School, Adyar, on July 16.

Prabodh Jain, Patron Member of Karuna International, was the chief guest and received the first copy of the Souvenir released on the occasion. The Souvenir was filled with articles and illustrations by the children to mark the 30th anniversary of the club activities.

Adyar Times was established in Chennai in the year 1993, founded by Mr.S.P.Ambrose, IAS (Retd.). The concept of a newspaper for the neighbourhood was a novel idea then. The English weekly (Sunday) now boasts a circulation of 42000 copies with an average of 16 pages per issue.
