Publisher’s Note
Dear Readers,
We are thrilled to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Adyar Times, a milestone that fills us with immense pride and gratitude. It has been an incredible journey, and we owe it all to your unwavering support and loyalty.
Over the past three decades, Adyar Times has evolved and adapted to the changing times, always striving to bring you the latest news, insightful articles, and meaningful stories that matter to our community. We’ve covered local events, highlighted achievements, and championed important causes that have shaped our neighbourhood.
Our commitment to journalistic integrity, accuracy, and responsible reporting remains as strong as ever. We understand the vital role a local newspaper plays in fostering community connections, and we are dedicated to continuing that tradition.
We are immensely grateful to our advertisers for having reposed confidence in our paper and continuously prioritising us that has brought us to where we are today.
As we embark on the next decade, we look forward to serving you even better. We will continue to embrace new technologies and innovations, while staying true to our core values. Your feedback and suggestions are invaluable to us, so please keep them coming.
Thank you for being a part of our journey. Here’s to 30 years of community, news, and togetherness. We can’t wait to see what the future holds!
Warm regards,
J.P.Janakan, Managing Editor.
From the Editorial Desk
Adyar Times is 30 years old! More than 1550 issues and counting! With each issue we strive to bring in something special and wait excitedly for your views through letters and messages.
This April, we also launched our revamped website. This enables us to post articles immediately in our newspaper. Enjoy the interesting articles at www.adyartimes.in, and share them with your loved ones.
Adyar Times has been committed to the cause of environment; this year has seen a rise in the people’s movement for environment and civic issues – beach clean-ups, terrace gardens, sustainable farms, waste collection drives, thrift sales, tackling pet defecation on streets, opposing construction of the stormwater drains at places not required, and many more. While these movements are a matter of pride for us, continuous efforts to address the same issues implies that we are yet to learn from our mistakes. A long way to go! But alas! Time is running out!
As we step into another year, we hope to meet and write about many new people and groups showcasing renewed vigour, new resolutions and unique approaches, who would inspire not only the neighbourhood but also the world. We look to your continued patronage as we are optimistic that we would make a positive impact on the society and hope to see you too as instruments of change.
While in the midst of these festivities, we are sure that you would keep us as much in your prayers and wishes, as we keep you in ours. Happy festivities!
