TN Health Minister Inaugurates Development Projects Worth ₹198 Cr in Adyar Zone

amil Nadu Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Thiru Ma. Subramanian, inaugurated completed development projects worth ₹198 crore and launched new initiatives valued at ₹6.98 crore under the Greater Chennai Corporation’s Adyar Zone.

  • Ward 170 – Kalikundram Main Road:
    • Children’s Centre constructed under the Velachery Constituency Development Scheme – ₹15 lakh.
    • Compound wall constructed under Capital Fund – ₹3.54 lakh.
  • Ward 172:
    • Kannigapuram, Velachery Main Road: Multi-purpose Hall constructed from Ward Development Fund – ₹39.50 lakh.
    • Nehru Nagar: CCTV surveillance system installed with 120 cameras on 44 poles under Namakku Naame Scheme – ₹37.66 lakh.
  • Ward 175:
    • TN Housing Board Colony, 3rd Avenue, Velachery Road: Additional school building at Chennai Primary School under the Singara Chennai Scheme – ₹1.15 crore.
    • ASK Nagar Main Road: Multi-purpose Hall constructed from Ward Development Fund – ₹24.86 lakh.
    • High-mast electric poles installed at various points – ₹9.91 lakh.

New Projects Launched:

  • Ward 172 – Chennai Higher Secondary School, Maduvinkarai: Foundation stone laid for a new school building (ground + two floors) – ₹6.50 crore.

These projects aim to improve education infrastructure, safety, and public utility services for residents of Adyar and surrounding areas.

The event was attended by: Mayor R. Priya, Velachery MLA J.M.H. Aasan Maulana, Deputy Commissioner (Revenue & Finance) Prathivraj, IAS, Zonal Committee Chairperson R. Durairaj, Ward Councillors M. Maheswari Murugavel and S. Bhaskaran, various government officials and local representatives.
