Chennai traffic will face diversions for three days, from Apr.20 to 22, due to ongoing Highways Department construction of a 4-lane elevated corridor on GST Road from Teynampet to Saidapet.

  • Vehicles from Teynampet towards Saidapet will be diverted via Cenotaph Road, Turnbulls Junction, Chamiers Road (Pasumpon Muthuramalinga Devar Road) and Nandanam Junction, to reach Anna Salai.
  • Traffic from Saidapet towards Chamiers Road will be restricted, with vehicles directed to use Anna Salai and Cenotaph Road.
  • G.K.Moopanar (GKM) Bridge and Rathna Nagar Main Road will become one-way entries from Cenotaph Road, with restrictions on entry from Gandhi Mandapam Road and Anna Salai, respectively.
  • Vehicles from Kotturpuram towards Teynampet via Cenotaph Road will be diverted via GKM Flyover Service Road, Turnbulls Junction, Chamiers Road, and Nandanam Junction, to Anna Salai.
  • To maintain traffic flow, parking will be prohibited on Anna Salai, Cenotaph Road, Chamiers Road, and surrounding one-way loop roads.

Motorists are asked to cooperate with the diversions.
