Participants waved flags of India and Russia at the walkathon conducted by the Russian House, on Apr.15, at Elliot’s beach, celebrating the 76th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Nearly 100 people joined hands at the event, which was flagged off by Oleg Avdeev, Consul General of the Russian Federation in South India. “The date of a walk of Indo-Russian Friendship was not chosen by chance. The USSR was the first country that established diplomatic relations with India on April 13, 1947,” read a tweet by the Russian Embassy in India.
Neighbourhood residents K.Mohamed Ibrahim Khaleel, Former Regional Director – ICCR and danseuse Shobana Ramesh also participated in the walkathon.
