Asian Institute of Nephrology and Urology (AINU), on Aug.12, organised a walkathon at Besant Nagar celebrating World Organ Donation Day. Flagged off by senior consultants of AINU, the awareness drive witnessed more than 100 volunteers enthusiastically walking across the busy streets covering several kilometres.
The walkathon sensitised the public on the indispensable need for organ donation in the nation through educational placards and posters carried by the volunteers. A couple of transplant patients who had undergone successful kidney transplants at AINU also shared their inspiring testimonials with the crowd.
