Yoga therapy for Multiple Sclerosis

The Multiple Sclerosis Society of India (MSSI), Chennai Chapter, in collaboration with Yogavahini Foundation, Chennai and Kauvery Hospital successfully hosted a special event, ‘Yoga Therapy for MS’ (Multiple Sclerosis) at Kauvery Hospital, on May 11 to commemorate World MS Day.

The special session featured expert talks on Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and its diagnosis, medication, rehabilitation, and wellness beyond medication for a quality life. Eminent neurologists from Kauvery Hospital, including Dr. Venkatraman Karthikeyan, Prof. Dr. K. Subramaniyan, Dr. T. Swathi, Dr. V. Balambighai, and Dr. Lakshmanan, shared their insights. Participants also learned about yoga therapy for neurological conditions from Saraswathi Vasudevan and Jyothi Shanbhag of Yogavahini Foundation, Besant Nagar, gaining practical yoga tools and practices to manage MS symptoms and empower individuals living with the condition.
