Applicants who have cleared JEE Main get direct admission, while others can qualify through a four-week online preparatory course followed by a qualifier exam. The last date to apply is May 20, 2025, through https://study.iitm.ac.in.

“These BS programs reflect our vision to democratize access to IIT-quality education,” said Prof. V. Kamakoti, Director, IIT Madras. “Three of the top 10 GATE 2025 ranks in Data Science and AI—including AIR 1—were achieved by our BS students. This proves the rigour and quality of these programs.”

The Data Science program is open to students from any stream (Commerce, Science, etc.) with Class 10 Math and English. The Electronic Systems program requires Physics and Math in Classes XI and XII. The course is available online with Multiple entry/exit options (Certificate, Diploma, BSc, or BS). No age limit, unlimited seats and financial aid available.

Prof. Andrew Thangaraj, Program Coordinator, noted, “This program breaks geographic, economic, and academic barriers to build future-ready tech talent.”
