Swagath Apartments celebrates its anniversary

On June 15, the Swagath Residents Welfare Association, Kottur, marked its 25th anniversary with a celebratory annual general body meeting, drawing nearly 50 residents.

The event commenced with a welcome address by the President, followed by a prayer and Bharatnatyam performances by Srivarthini and Yazharasi. Special songs were rendered by Jahnvi and Adhiran, preceding a two-minute silence for departed souls.

The Treasurer presented the annual accounts, which received unanimous approval. Elections were then held, resulting in the appointment of T. Joseph as President, N. Kamalkishor as Secretary, and S. Ramalingam as Treasurer. K.Hema,. Latha Subramoniam, Ramesh and D. Elumalai were elected as executive members.

Special recognition was given to Dr. P.Bakkiyalakshmi and Kalaivani for organising performances and games. All participating children and winners were given prizes. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks.

Adyar Times was established in Chennai in the year 1993, founded by Mr.S.P.Ambrose, IAS (Retd.). The concept of a newspaper for the neighbourhood was a novel idea then. The English weekly (Sunday) now boasts a circulation of 42000 copies with an average of 16 pages per issue.
