Wonderpatch is a garage-based community art workshop in Adyar that brings children together to reconnect with nature through creativity. In a recent session, children painted trees that represented themselves and assembled them into a vibrant forest mural, symbolising individuality and unity.
They also co-created a poem titled ‘Talking Trees’, led by young poet Shravani Prabhakar, which was a hit among both children and parents. The initiative is now exploring ways to publish the poem to help every child feel that their voice matters.
Founded as a heartfelt, non-commercial effort, Wonderpatch offers children a joyful space to express themselves and stay rooted in art, nature, and community. The response has been overwhelmingly positive, with enthusiastic parents looking forward to more such workshops. Shravani now hopes to empower other women to start similar creative spaces from the comfort of their homes, spreading the joy of storytelling, art, and self-expression even further.
