The Greater Chennai Corporation has, on Aug.23, instructed all contractors working on stormwater drain projects to ensure public safety by properly installing barricades around excavation sites. The directive aims to prevent accidents and minimize inconvenience to both pedestrians and traffic.

The Corporation has issued a strong warning that legal action will be taken against any contractor responsible for an accident caused by the failure to implement proper safety measures at their work sites.
