Tradition, devotion, and discipline took centre stage as the Kirans Academy of Natya, Besant Nagar, hosted its 18th Annual Day at Kalakshetra’s Rukmini Arangam. Over 40 students presented 17 performances in music and Bharatanatyam, filling the evening with vibrant rhythm and expressive storytelling.
Academy directors and award-winning artistes Dr. Gopukiran Sadasivan and Dr. Aashin Kiran performed ‘Arpuda Nartanam’, their seamless harmony a highlight of the evening. Among the younger talents, Tridev Kiran stood out for his dynamic portrayals of Lord Shiva and Hanuman.
Chief Guest Guru Girija Chandran, Founder–Director of Regatta Natya Sangeetha Kendra, praised the academy’s efforts in sustaining classical traditions. The program concluded with a Mangalam on Lord Hanuman, resonating with devotion.
The event, marked by resounding applause and proud parents, reaffirmed Kirans Academy’s role as a nurturing space for Chennai’s cultural vitality.
