The Mangayakarasi Mahlir Manram, Sastri Nagar, on Nov.10, hosted a practical awareness session on administering first aid during various health emergencies. The session was led by Dr. Gandhimathi and Dr. Banumathi, who provided crucial training on essential first aid techniques, including:

  • Ensuring victim safety and proper ventilation.
  • Sterile cleaning of wounds to control blood loss until professional medical help arrives.
  • Life-saving demonstrations, such as techniques to dislodge foreign objects (like coins or chalk) swallowed by children.
  • Instruction on supporting techniques like CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) to help a patient regain consciousness.

The session was both useful and interactive, with Dr. Gandhimathi actively answering questions and clarifying members’ doubts. The Manram’s President, Archana Ramasundaram, IPS, concluded the session by honouring Dr. Gandhimathi with a bouquet and a memento.
