The Greater Chennai Corporation teamed up with Urbaser Sumeet for a beach cleanup drive at Edward Elliot’s beach in Besant Nagar as part of the Indian Swachhata League 2.0, on Sept.17. 

Dr.Justice P.Jyothimani, the chief guest, kicked off an awareness rally. Notable attendees included Er.Mahesan – CE (SWM), Dr.Srinivasan – HEO, Greater Chennai Corporation officials from Zone 13, and representatives from Urbaser Sumeet – Mahmood Sait (CEO), Jai Kiran (GM), Guruswamy Balasubramaniam (Project Head – Plg V), and Bhim Rao (Zonal Manager – Zone 13).

The cleanliness pledge was administered, followed by the awareness rally. Mr.Thangaraj, NGC, RWA members, students, eco-conscious citizens and a group of NGO members joined hands in this essential cleanup effort.

“This initiative reminds us of our duty to protect our environment and join forces for a cleaner India,” said a statement from Urbaser Sumeet.
