The National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Multiple Disabilities under the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, proudly celebrated its graduation ceremony on June 12.
The day serves to recognise the contribution of every student in achieving the graduates’ success and an opportunity to express gratitude to their family, friends, and mentors who have supported them throughout their academic journey.
The chief guest Justice S. Baskaran – Retired Judge of the High Court of Madras, guest of honour Inspector General Donny Michael – Commander of the Coast Guard Region (East), and the special guest Dr P.Ganesan – Controller of Examinations (Tamilnadu Teacher Education University) inaugurated the event in the presence of NIEPMD officials: Dr Nachiketa Rout – Director, Dr A.Amarnath, Deputy Registrar (Offg.) and other officials.
During the inaugural address, Justice Baskaran emphasised the vital role of inclusive education that helps students gain confidence and make a difference in society.
Inspector General Donny Michael highlighted the significance of resilience and dedication and extended his heartfelt appreciation to the young achievers. Dr Ganesan commended the academic rigour and innovative teaching methods at NIEPMD.
Following the inaugural ceremony, certificates were distributed to the students. About 340 students from the Department of Allied Health Sciences and Special Education pledged to be honest in their duties and use their knowledge to serve the country and humanity.
