The NSS units of Patrician College of Arts and Science, Gandhi Nagar, organised a tree plantation programme on July 18. K.Vetrivel, Founder of Awareness Indian Movement, inaugurated the event in which Rev. Bro. Naveen Francis – Director and Secretary, Dr Fatima Vasanth – Academic Director, Dr Arokiamary Geetha Rufus – Principal, Dr Ananda Priya – Vice Principal and NSS leaders planted saplings. The saplings were then named after their respective mothers. 

The chief guest and Dr Fatima emphasised the importance of protecting our environment and preserving Nature for posterity. They stressed the responsibility of every individual towards the same.

The NSS unit of Patrician College, Gandhi Nagar, observed World Population Day on July 11. They raised awareness through a street play enacted in the open-air auditorium of the college. Rev. Bro. Naveen Francis, Director and Secretary, and Dr Fatima Vasanth, Academic Director of the college graced the occasion.

The NSS unit of Patrician College of Arts and Science organised ‘World Plastic Bag Free’ Day on July 3 as part of the orientation programme for UG students. Rev. Bro. Naveen Francis – Director and Secretary, Dr Fatima Vasanth Academic Director and Dr Arokiamary Geetha Rufus – Principal, highlighted the problems of using plastic and promoted the alternatives. The students and parents also received saplings and jute bags.

Adyar Times was established in Chennai in the year 1993, founded by Mr.S.P.Ambrose, IAS (Retd.). The concept of a newspaper for the neighbourhood was a novel idea then. The English weekly (Sunday) now boasts a circulation of 42000 copies with an average of 16 pages per issue.
