As part of its ongoing efforts to eradicate curable blindness, Appayya Dikshita Foundation (ADF), Kottivakkam, has been organising free eye camps across Chennai and its outskirts in collaboration with MN Eye Hospital, Besant Nagar.

On Mar.29, ADF made a monetary donation to MN Eye Hospital to fund free eye surgeries and treatments for underprivileged patients. Representing the foundation, S.Srinivasan, Madras High Court advocate, presented the cheque to Dr. Nivean Madhivanan, Chief Vitreoretinal Surgeon and Academic Director at MN Eye Hospital. Dr. Shruthi Nissanth, Pediatric Cataract Surgeon, was also present at the occasion.

Adyar Times was established in Chennai in the year 1993, founded by Mr.S.P.Ambrose, IAS (Retd.). The concept of a newspaper for the neighbourhood was a novel idea then. The English weekly (Sunday) now boasts a circulation of 42000 copies with an average of 16 pages per issue.
