Annual Day at Sri Sankara School

The Annual Day of Sri Sankara Senior Secondary School was magnificently celebrated on July 12, at The Music Academy. Dr.Santishree Dhulipudi Pandit – Vice Chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru University, was the chief guest.

The evening’s proceedings commenced with a melodious prayer song rendered by Lakshana Venkatakrishnan (Class 12). Principal S.Vidyalakshmi welcomed the gathering and presented the annual report delineating the school’s significant activities and stellar achievements over the preceding year. Also present were the school’s Managing Trustee, N.Kumar.

Dr.Santishree extolled the students for their exceptional accomplishments across various fields and lauded the institution for its unwavering commitment to providing diverse opportunities. The evening’s highlight was the distribution of accolades to the distinguished students for their outstanding performance in the Class X and XII board examinations.

The school also launched ‘Voice of Alumni’ featuring an inspiring address by Dr. Padma Murali (Batch of 1992), who shared valuable insights from her journey and reflected on the profound impact of the school’s values on her.

The festivities culminated in a vibrant cultural programme, showcasing an eclectic array of performances, which included renditions of classical and contemporary music, theatrical presentations in English and Hindi, and a captivating assortment of dance performances spanning classical, fusion, western, and contemporary genres.

Adyar Times was established in Chennai in the year 1993, founded by Mr.S.P.Ambrose, IAS (Retd.). The concept of a newspaper for the neighbourhood was a novel idea then. The English weekly (Sunday) now boasts a circulation of 42000 copies with an average of 16 pages per issue.
