Centenary celebrations of distinguished professors

Alagappa College of Technology (Textile Department), Guindy, celebrated the centenary celebrations of two professors – Dr S.Krishnamurthy and Prof. R.A.Quraishi who belonged to the first batch of B.ScTech from the same college and later were teaching faculty in the department.  

Dr S.Krishnamurthy was the longest serving HOD, while Prof. R.A.Quraishi was the leader in the Spinning Department and was instrumental in heading the Textile Department, at the Central Polytechnic at Taramani, in the initial stages when it was started.

Both professors not only set high standards in teaching subjects in textiles but also received recognition in the textile industry for their contribution. They guided the students in their career and welfare. Dr S.Krishnamurthy also served as the warden of the AC Tech., hostel.

The function was held in Coimbatore. The chief guest Sanjay Jayavardhanavelu – Chairman and Managing Director of Lakshmi Machine Works, Coimbatore released the well-compiled Coffee Table Book and it was received by the AC Tech Textile Alumni Association President M.Veluswamy.

The function was well attended by the family members of Dr S.Krishnamurthy, Prof. R.A.Quraishi and alumni members.
