Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, on July 3, virtually laid the foundation stone for the Tamil Knowledge Campus in Taramani, Chennai. This ambitious project, spearheaded by the Raja Muthiah Research Library, Taramani, aims to establish a vibrant cultural hub for the Tamil people.
The campus, to be built on 30,000 square feet of land provided by the Tamil Nadu Government in the Taramani Technology Park, will cost an estimated Rs. 40 crores. It will house the existing Raja Muthiah Research Library (which holds over 5 lakh documents), along with a new Indus Valley Research Centre and a General Studies Research Centre. The project will unfold in two phases, with funding from the government, various Tamil organisations, institutions, and philanthropists.
The ceremony was attended by Minister for Water Resources and Law Durai Murugan, Chief Secretary Na. Muruganandam, I.A.S., and other distinguished officials and trustees of the Raja Muthiah Research Library.
