CURI Hospital, OMR, on Aug.31, successfully concluded its ‘Know Your Kidneys’ campaign, a multi-faceted initiative aimed at promoting kidney health and early detection among students and the community.
The initiative kicked off with an Inter-School Arts Competition, where students from Classes 2 to 10 submitted artworks on kidney health themes. The winning entries were selected by a jury including artists Chiquita Ravi and Varalakshmi Badri. Simultaneously, parents and teachers received free kidney screenings and awareness sessions.

For college students, CURI launched the ‘Lights Camera Kidneys!’ reels contest, judged by film director Karthik Subbaraj and others. Participants created short videos on important topics like ‘Know Your Numbers’, ‘Dialysis, and Kidney Transplant’.
The campaign culminated on Aug.31 with the ‘Kidney Health Matters’ program, featuring a free screening camp, a myth-buster session by Dr. Guhan, and an insightful panel discussion with patients and experts.
According to Dr. Ajay Rathoon I., Consultant Nephrologist at CURI, the campaign’s core message is to “Know Your Numbers – 120 / 1.2 / 0” to protect kidney health.
