The Dementia Care Foundation (TDCF) launched an impactful World Alzheimer’s Day Awareness Series across Chennai, aiming to break the social stigma surrounding dementia and empower various communities with knowledge on care and support.
The series focused on different community groups in the days leading up to World Alzheimer’s Day:
- Sept.16: A session at the Rotary Club of Madras South discussed the importance of community-driven initiatives in awareness and care.
- Sept.19: TDCF addressed students at Justice Basheer Ahmed Sayeed College for Women, highlighting the younger generation’s role in early symptom identification and empathetic support.
- Sept.20: A talk at St. Isabel’s College of Nursing equipped future healthcare professionals with knowledge on best dementia care practices and compassionate communication strategies.
