On June 4, CSIR-Central Leather Research Institute (CLRI), Taramani, celebrated both – National Technology Day and World Environment Day with fanfare. Dr. K.J.Sreeram – Director of CSIR-CLRI, addressed the gathering. Also present were chief guest K.R.Venkatadri – Chief Commercial Officer of Tata Chemicals and P.Rajasekaran – Business Head of Tata International Limited.
Venkatadri delivered a lecture on ‘Pioneering Sustainability: Bridging Tech and the Environment’, emphasising innovation and sustainable technology. Tata International and CSIR-CLRI signed an agreement for ‘Genocorium’, a regenerate leather technology. The ceremony also saw the launch of software on the Contractual Document Information Retrieval System and the premiere of a film on environmental sustainability. Scientists who transferred the technologies successfully were honoured.
