Indian Railways has unveiled a new era of passenger convenience with the launch of RailOne App, a comprehensive, all-in-one mobile solution. Launched by Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, on July 1, on the 40th Foundation Day of the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS), the app aims to significantly enhance passenger amenities and interface.
Available on both Android and iOS, RailOne integrates a wide array of services, including unreserved UTS ticket booking with a 3% R-Wallet discount, live train tracking, grievance redressal, e-catering, porter booking, and last-mile taxi services. Authorised by IRCTC, it allows single sign-on using existing RailConnect & UTS credentials, reducing the need for multiple applications. Reserved tickets will continue to be managed by IRCTC.
In parallel, CRIS is set to complete a modernisation of the Passenger Reservation System (PRS) by December 2025. The upgraded PRS promises an agile, multilingual, and scalable platform capable of handling 1.5 lakh ticket bookings and 40 lakh enquiries per minute, ten times its current capacity. It will introduce advanced features like seat choice and fare calendars, alongside integrated options for Divyangjan, students, and patients.
These initiatives align with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to transform Indian Railways into a growth engine for India’s development journey, reaffirming a commitment to democratizing technology and delivering world-class mobility.
