KV IIT Chennai wore a festive look as the Vidyalaya geared up for the investiture ceremony on July 12. Prof. Vignesh Muthuvijayan, IITM, graced the occasion as the chief guest and presided over the function. 

The program started with a welcome dance – Bharatanatyam. The elected members of the fours houses namely – Thillaiyadi Valliammai, Dheeran Chinnamalai, Maruthunayagam and Velu Nachiyar, the members of the Students’ Council (Primary and Secondary) and the Discipline Committee Members were ready to promise and pledge their commitment in their allotted posts as School Pupil Leaders, Cultural Captains, Disciplinary Captains, Publication Captains and Sports Captains for the academic year 2023-24.

The chief guest presented the sash and badges to the newly appointed members and wished them good luck in their new endeavour. School Captain Sanjay Savitendra administered the oath to the newly appointed Board of Students’ Council, who swore to serve their school with utmost sincerity and to the best of their abilities.

Principal Dr.M.Manickasamy welcomed the gathering and opined that this kind of events provide students the opportunity to inculcate the value of being a good citizen and reinstate their commitment and accountability.

The chief guest insisted that apart from academics, students should develop the other traits, and holding important portfolios will help them a lot in future. The school captains Sanjay and S.Aarushi promised to give their best for the upliftment of the Vidyalaya. The badges for the Associate Captains and Junior Captains were also distributed by the House Masters.

Adyar Times was established in Chennai in the year 1993, founded by Mr.S.P.Ambrose, IAS (Retd.). The concept of a newspaper for the neighbourhood was a novel idea then. The English weekly (Sunday) now boasts a circulation of 42000 copies with an average of 16 pages per issue.
