Appayya Dikshita Foundation (ADF), Kottivakkam, has been doing Gau Samrakshana Seva in association with ghoshala at the Indian Institue of Animal Welfare, which specifically caters to more than 800 abandoned, sick, aged, accident-hit and rescued cows, for more than two decades.

On Jan.16, ADF celebrated Mattu-Pongal at the institute. The event commenced with the Vigneshwara Pooja and special pooja to all the cows, followed by Vedic chanting by learned Rithwiks.
