Gandhi Jayanthi’ was celebrated at Mangayarkarasi Magalir Manram, Sastri Nagar. They celebrated Gandhi Jayanthi and the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Sastri, on Oct.2.
The celebrations commenced with ‘All religion prayer’ by the members and was followed by singing of bhajans in honour of Mahatma Gandhi. Rich tributes were also paid to Lal Bahadur Sastri. Painting, oratorical and fancy-dress competitions were conducted for students of the adjacent Corporation Primary School. A beautiful dance performed by two disciples of the club member Dhakshayani enthralled the gathering. Prizes were distributed to the students by the President Archana Ramasundaram IPS (retired).
