The 27th Batch (1975-78) alumni reunion of Madras Institute of Technology (MIT) was celebrated as ‘50 Years of Togetherness’ on Feb.24, at MIT, Anna University – Chromepet campus. The golden jubilee event was graced by Dean Dr. K. Ravichandran as the chief guest.

The reunion brought together PG DMIT graduates from aeronautics, automobile, electronics, and instrumentation engineering, reflecting on their careers spanning defence, education, public and private sectors. Several attendees had travelled from the USA, Australia, Canada and Singapore to be part of this nostalgic occasion.

Notably, N.Rangamani (retired Air India Engineering Executive) and R.Veluchamy (retired CEO, Tata International Senegal), both Adyar residents, played key roles in organising the event. Their batch was the last to be awarded the DMIT before MIT merged with Anna University. Former professors were honoured, and alumni expressed deep gratitude to their mentors.

Post-reunion, alumni and their families gathered at a beach resort for music, fun games, yoga, and spiritual talks by batchmates. The team plans to meet again in 2028, marking 50 years since their graduation.
